Welcome to the Alternative Media Access Center

The Alternative Media Access Center (AMAC), an initiative of the University System of Georgia, is committed to removing barriers and providing access to knowledge for individuals with physical, sensory, and learning print-related disabilities.

AMAC is a partner of the University of Georgia and the UGA Regents' Center for Learning Disorders and works with private institutions, government and non-profit organizations, private industry, and other agencies serving individuals with disabilities. AMAC research initiatives and services incorporate digital media and adaptive technology solutions.

Take the UGA RCLD/AMAC 5 Minute Alternative Media Survey

The UGA RCLD and AMAC are conducting a student and a disability service provider survey to examine access and usage of alternative print formats.

Please take the survey and help shape "best practices" in the use of alternative media as an accommodation.

Vencer Cotton has been creating his own Braille books for 20 years. As a student at the Mississippi School for the Blind in Jackson, Vencer was taught to be self sufficient.

But now that Vencer is a student at Mercer University his time would be better spent studying, rather than producing, his books.
